CAVELERO PROGRAM FACTS:

    

Middle school curriculum for 8 th graders (option for high school credits) and high school curriculum for 9 th graders Challenge programs Full interscholastic athletic program for 8 th and 9 th grades During the 8 th grade school year the students will take the SBA (Smarter Balanced) in both ELA (English/Language Arts) and Math as well as the Science MSP or alternate assessment.

We consider daily attendance paramount to student success at Cavelero Mid High School.

Encourage your student to make every effort to attend class. By working in partnership we can provide every opportunity for student academic achievement.

Students that exceed 10 absences during a semester in any class will LOSE CREDIT in that class

Attendance Retrieval Students can retrieve up to 5 absences in any class must be excused absences only Unexcused absences may not be retrieved

Tardies 3 tardies equal 1 unexcused absence – count towards total accumulated absences in determining credit eligibility

Are you always earning excellent grades? If so, you should consider becoming a member of Cavelero’s National Junior Honor Society!

Interested candidates wanting to become members of Cavelero’s National Junior Honor Society must meet eligibility requirements. Candidates are required to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better in addition to completing 4 hours of community service by May 22, 2015.

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

Benefits of being a member of National Junior Honor Society are: •Serve your community •Become a leader in your school and community •Build your character •Demonstrate scholarship on college and job applications

The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Cavelero Mid-High School.
