NAVIANCE
Welcome to Family Connection
Naviance Account Activation
All Rancho Buena Vista students and their
parents/guardians are provided with a Naviance
account.
 Naviance users can access tools that allow them to
explore their personality type, career interests, and
post-high school educational opportunities including
colleges and trade or technical schools.
 For College-bound students, Naviance serves as a
management system that streamlines the entire
application process from selecting campuses to
sending applications and applying for scholarships.
Parents/guardians can use Naviance to review their
student’s college selections and the application
process.

Naviance is a program that is designed to help students plan their post-high
school endeavors. By using it, you can make your college, vocational
school, or tech school search MUCH easier and organized!
Naviance allows you to:
Store all of your demographic/academic information
Search for colleges/vocational schools/tech schools based on the
parameters YOU define
Stay aware of important deadlines
Manage your ENTIRE application process, from start to finish
Communicate with other RBV students
Receive important e-mails from the counseling office regarding college
visits, application workshops, and financial aid tips
And much more!
How to access Naviance
If you need to register for the first time:
 Go to www.rbvhs.org
 Click on the Naviance link on the righthand side
If you already have an account:
 You can access the program from
www.rbvhs.org OR go straight to
http://connection.naviance.com/rbvhs
If this is the FIRST TIME you have used Naviance, click the “I need to register”
button on the right side of the page.
If you are a PARENT, register with your student’s ID number. For
example, if your student’s id number is 12345, you need to use 123456P
to register. Click Register.

The next screen should look like this (if it does NOT, talk to your counselor):
1. Enter your E-mail
address…and make
SURE it is one that you
actually USE!
2. CONFIRM your e-mail
address.
3. Make up a password,
one that you will
REMEMBER!
4. CONFIRM your
password.
1. Read the Privacy Statement, accept it, and click
the “Complete Registration” button.
That’s it! You have a Naviance account. Students, take some time and explore the
“college search” and “career search” link. Explore all the links, save your work, and
your college application process will go much more smoothly when the time comes!
If you are a PARENT, note that you
will have limited access to your
student’s account, with the
opportunity to review specific key
areas. After you create your
account, search the links and
familiarize yourself with the
numerous features that will help
you better chart your child’s career
and college search.
