Welcome back after a busy holiday … We are settling back in our classroom. To all you Mums and Dads we understand it’s a big milestone for you as well as your children being in school all day. We’ll take special care of them and if they are upset we will ring you straight away!! Reading: We will be learning to read by having Guided Reading sessions weekly .We can change our individual books when we have finished them ,even though our teacher may not hear us read them. Bring them daily just in case. CAPER: We can change these in our class libraries weekly. Come to our class meetings where reading will be explained in more detail. PE: Fridays ( Indoor kit – Black shorts and white t-shirts) Music is on Wednesdays. Class Meeting 13th and 14th Sept. Gardening Day: 14th October Water bottles on sale in the office £1.20 Underpants Day: 21st October Book Bags on sale in the office £4.50 Divali Day: 3rd November Captain Beany visit- TBA Superhero Party – Tollgate ParkTBA Fruit – 50p a week Please could you make sure your child’s name is on all their school clothes to save any confusion during changing for P.E. Sometimes the children may come home a little dirty or have some paint on their clothing. All care will be taken to try to minimise this, but we like the children to be ‘hands on’ with their learning! They will also spend a lot of time learning outdoors so make sure that their uniform is warm and comfy. Listening to lots of stories. We will be learning a story called- The Little Red Hen Learning our sounds with Jolly Phonics Emergent writing- writing invitations to a Superhero party Writing a shopping list for a party Writing a letter to Santa We will be counting 0-10 and matching numbers to how many objects there are. Writing our numbers to 10 2D Shape (Triangle, square, rectangle and circle) We will be measuring lots of things around the classroom Superheroes We will be looking at how Superheroes help us and comparing them to how the Police and the Fire service help us. Learning how to Share Listen to and follow rules We will be looking at where superheroes live, and comparing them to where we live. My family, All about me, Parts of the body, Senses …. Our Artist that we will be looking at is Picasso Colour mixing using the primary colours Junk Modelling to make a superhero We will be answering the regiater in Welsh and asking Pwy wyt ti? – Who they In the hall we will be listening to commands and using our feet to do lots are. They will also be learning about the of running, skipping and hopping. Weather and colours.
