FedStats as a gateway
• Provides access to statistical information
from more than 100 statistical agencies in
the United States
• Also presents data from some agencies in
accordance with the International
Monetary Fund’s Dissemination Standards

Web page from text files
• Participating agencies: Federal Reserve
Board, Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor
Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis,
Treasury Department
• These agencies produce simple text files
which are checked twice a day and used
to generate the HTML page.

SDMX pilot?
• Format is arbitrary – why not use SDMXML instead?
• Requires a key family specifically for the
data represented on this page.
• Each agency could then produce a file or
files following the SDMX standard which
could be picked up instead.

• We’re hoping to be able to go forward very
