Current history tab function doesn’t contain any useful
information to help users recollect their search process.
The problem that our team found can be deep dived into four
main factors.
1. Discontinuity of searching
e.g. the situations when you are forced to
reboot
2. Thinking process itself cannot be
captured
e.g. group members can be saying the same
thing and imagining other things
3. Too much information makes it
impossible for human to organize
e.g. 30 research papers in need of categorizing
4. Unfocused internet interface
e.g. too many tabs
We usually encounter these problems when we do internet shopping or do the academic research.
Root of problems
Internet is still functioning by past paradigm when information was scarce and the core
function of the Internet is to gather information, not organizing them
effectively.(personalized information)
Human’s cognitive ability has not improved accordingly.
