Measurement in Math
Activity Description:
Students
were asked
to circle the
time shown
on the clock.
Students
were asked
to write how
many faces,
corners,
edges on
the 3 D
shapes.
Teachers Comment:
Charlene knows all about all 3D shapes that she has learnt at school. She
knows how to add and take away mentally. She knows how to read and write
analogue and digital clocks on the hour, half hour and five minute lots.
English Writing
Activity Description:
Students have
been studying the
movie ‘Finding
Nemo’. They
were shown this
picture and asked
to help write a
group text. They
were then asked
to write their own
text under the
picture.
Teachers Comment:
Charlene writes short simple texts using known
words. She helps to edit group writing and writes
some sentences independently. She invents spelling
of unknown words and sometimes self corrects.
English Reading
Activity Description:
Students read the text they
have been learning at school,
‘The Lunch Bunch’.
Teachers Comment:
Charlene reads with the group and re-reads
know texts. She recognises some sight
words, such as I, the, and, is, in. She uses
her knowledge of letter sounds and symbols
to attempt reading of unknown words. She
uses initial sounds, sight words and pictures
and sometimes self corrects.
