A way to judge how a project or plan will affect a group’s health, and to identify actions that can prevent or manage the harmful health effects. 2 Definición del HIA ¿Que es una Evaluación de los Impactos a la Salud (HIA)? Yes (per City Council 2014 Priorities) Scoping Clarify and prioritize issues to focus on Steering Committee and Public Input – Feb-Mar 2015 Assessment Two parts: 1) Conduct background research on health in the neighborhood City Staff, Steering Committee, Public Input - Recommendations 2) Identify potential effects on health if the project happens Mar-May 2015 Identify actions to address the harms identified City Staff, Steering Committee, Public Input – June-Aug 2015 Reporting Write a report as public comment with recommendations City Staff ,Steering Committee, Public Input –Fall 2015 (before Neighborhood Plan is complete) Monitoring Track impacts on decision-making processes, the actual decision, and effects of the project on health 2016 11 ¿Cuál es el proceso de la HIA?
