Instructional Objectives:
Performance Students will learn
to participate in a game of
volleyball.
Conditions After powerpoint,
in-class lecture.
Criteria Underhand serve, pass,
& set on a women’s net students
will play 6 vs. 6 and each student
will demonstrate their passing,
setting & serving with 80%
accuracy.
Target Audience:
9-10th graders
Learning Environment:
Basic information can be discussed
in the classroom, but instruction
should be also given on a court.
History of Volleyball…
Created in 1895 by William G. Morgan in
Holyoke, Massachusetts
Morgan was a YMCA instructor
Volleyball was originally named
“mintonette”
Intended for business men because it was
less contact than other sports
