An inter-ministerial body, established by a governmental decision Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor – Chief Scientist Council of Higher Education – Planning & Budgeting Committee Ministry of Science & Technology Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ministry of Finance Note: As an associated country to the program – Israel pays a participation fee
ISERD – What is our Role ?
Maximizing the benefits of the Israeli participation in the Framework Program The national Contact Point Creating awareness and promoting the Framework Program to the Israeli R&D community Assisting and escorting the Israeli participants Industry, Academia and other institutes The national delegate to EC program committees
Technology Platform (ETP) – What is it ?
Brings together the main stakeholders in an R&D field to identify common R&D goals of industrial relevance Develops a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) to achieve these goals, addressing technology & non-technology barriers Stakeholders include mainly industry, but also academia and the investors in research, public or private A forum for networking and creating alliances and consortia for collaborative R&D

Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) –
What is it ?
A public-private partnership to execute (part of) the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) of a Technology Platform, combining national and European public funding with private sector investment Implemented through dedicated legal structure Proposed JTIs (ICT domain) European Nanoelectronics Initiative Advisory Council (ENIAC) Advanced R&D on Embedded Intelligent Systems (ARTEMIS) Timeline Finalize preparation – End 2006 European Council decision – Mid 2007 First calls – End 2007 Projects launched - 2008
