Newton’s Laws of Motion

 2.3 kg x 9.8 m/s/s = Force (N)  12 N/ 7.6 kg = acceleration (m/s/s)

Newton’s 1st Law of Motion  An object at REST stays at REST, an object in MOTION stays in MOTION, unless acted on by an outside FORCE.

Examples       A ball on the ground.

A book on a table.

Wind chimes A pendulum on a grandfather clock.

A car driving down the street.

The Earth revolving around the sun.

Inertia     The tendency of all object to resist a change in their motion.

They want to keep doing what they are doing (whether they are at rest or in motion).

Another word is LAZINESS!

The more MASS and object has the more inertia it has.

How did this relate to the skateboard lab?
