Investment and inter-enterprise cooperation promotion PRO€INVEST Objective Results Funding/ Duration How Promote investment and transfer of technology to enterprises operating within key sectors in the ACP States. This will be achieved through on the one hand a support to intermediary private sector support organisations and professional associations, and, on the other hand the development of North-South and South-South inter-enterprise partnerships. Investment financing and development of financial markets Objective Results Funding/ Duration How Beneficiaries Contact EIB's Investment Facility Support private sector investment projects that are economically, technically, environmentally and financially viable and have a development and a poverty-reduction impact in the ACPs. Provision of medium to long term finance in the ACP countries through a range of flexible financial instruments such as loans, equity, quasi-capital or guarantees (denominated in EUR, other widely-traded currencies or local currencies) First Financial Protocol: 2003 – 2007: €2 billion Second Financial Protocol: 2008 – 2013: €1,5 billion In practice, EIB extends reimbursable capital at a commercial interest rate. Such interest rate subsidies can be capitalised or used as grants to support project related technical assistance. Business Development Services Centre for the Development of Enterprise (CDE) CDE supports the implementation of PSD strategies in ACP Objective countries by providing non-financial services to ACP companies and businesses and support to joint initiatives set up by economic operators of the Community and the ACP States. Co-finances operator’s costs of support and advisory services (i.e. Results feasibility studies, etc.) Creation and development of ACP enterprises. Funding/ Duration Budget: €108M/6 years Beneficiaries Demand driven project. The support is predominantly provided through a pro-active and programmed approach to selected subsectors and groups of SMEs in selected countries and regions; individual enterprises’ ad hoc requests are only eligible when they have distinct merits in terms of development impact and innovative investment. Support for micro-enterprises EU/ACP Micro-finance Framework Programme I & II Objective Results Funding/ Duration How Who Contact: To build the capacity of key microfinance actors and enhance equity and efficiency in ACP microfinance markets to ensure financial inclusion for microenterprises and low income household.
