The Vine and the Branches
John 15:1-11
1 "I am the true vine,
"Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a seed
of highest quality. How then have you turned
before Me Into the degenerate plant of an
alien vine?" (Jer. 2:21)

1 "I am the true vine,
For Christ has not entered the holy places
made with hands, which are copies of the true,
but into heaven itself, now to appear in the
presence of God for us (Heb. 9:24)

1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the
vinedresser.
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but
ministers through whom you believed, as the
Lord gave to each one? 6 I planted, Apollos
watered, but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither he who plants is anything,
nor he who waters, but God who gives the
increase. (1 Cor. 3:5-7)

Now he who plants and he who waters are
one, and each one will receive his own reward
according to his own labor. 9 For we are God's
fellow workers; you are God's field, you are
God's building. (1 Cor. 3:5-7)

He takes away;
And if some of the branches were broken
off, and you … became a partaker of the root
and fatness of the olive tree (Rom. 11:17)

He takes away; and every branch that bears
fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
"For whoever has, to him more will be given,
and he will have abundance" (Matt. 13:12 )

2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit
He takes away; and every branch that bears
fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
3 "You are already clean because of the word
which I have spoken to you.
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with
the washing of water by the word (Eph. 5:26)

4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch
cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in
the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in
Me.
A branch that has been broken off cannot bear fruit.
We abide in him by not allowing ourselves to be broken off.
He abides in us by our abiding in him.

4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch
cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in
the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in
Me.
"Therefore whoever confesses Me before
men, him I will also confess before My Father
who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me
before men, him I will also deny before My
Father who is in heaven." (Matt.10:32-33)

cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in
the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in
Me.
5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who
abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for
without Me you can do nothing.
We abide in him and avoid being broken off by bearing fruit.

gather them and throw them into the fire, and
they are burned.
10 "And even now the ax is laid to the root of
the trees. Therefore every tree which does not
bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the
fire." (Matt. 3:10)

they are burned.
12 "His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He
will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor,
and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will
burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be
done for you.

If and to the extent that His words abide in us, what we desire will be
in harmony with His revealed will.

10 "If you keep My commandments, you will
abide in My love, just as I have kept My
Father's commandments and abide in His love.

love one another; as I have loved you, that you
also love one another." (John 13:34)
