The Netherlands is a European
country, bordering Germany to the east
and Belgium to the south. The people,
language, and culture of the Netherlands is
referred to as "Dutch".
It is a parliamentary democracy organised
as a unitary state.
With over 16 million people, it's a densely
populated country with its gorgeous
capital Amsterdam being just one of many
interesting cities.
It is famous for its painters, windmills,
clogs and notoriously flat lands.
A modern European country today, it
preserved its highly international character
and is known for its liberal mentality. As a
founding member of EU and NATO, and
host to the International Court of Justice in
The Hague , the Netherlands is at the heart
of international cooperation.
Its small size, welcoming attitude to
travellers and many sights make it a unique
and fairly easy to discover destination and
a great addition to any European trip.
The Delta Works is a series of construction projects in the
southwest of the Netherlands to protect a large area of land around
the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta from the sea. The works consist of
dams, sluices, locks, dykes, levees, and storm surge barriers.
Delta Works have been declared one of the Seven Wonders of the
Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Kinderdijk is situated in a polder in the
Alblasserwaard at the confluence of the Lek and
Noord rivers.
To drain the polder, was built a system of 19
windmills around 1740. This group of mills is the
largest concentration of old windmills in the
Netherlands. The windmills of Kinderdijk are one of
the best-known Dutch tourist sites.
They have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site
since 1997.
Rotterdam is a vibrant city with many exciting
attractions such as Spido harbour tours, the
Euromast panorama tower. Rotterdam is also

market square with fresh produce, flowers
and cheese. Rotterdam is the biggest seaport
in Europe, one of the most important trading
centers in the world, centrally located at the
crossroads of major road, rail and water links
Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. It’s
colloquially known as Venice of the North, because of its lovely

different culture around the world.
