3-5 Angles of Polygons
• Polygon: many sided closed figure
• Convex polygon: all sides meet at points
outside of a figure
• Concave polygon: 1 or more sides meet at
points inside a figure

THEOREMS
• The sum of the measures of the angles of a
convex polygon with n sides is 180(n – 2)
• The sum of the measures of the exterior
angles of any convex polygon, one angle at
each vertex, is 360.
Example:
A polygon has 32 sides. Find (a) the sum of the
measure of the interior angles and (b) sum of
the exterior angles.
Regular Polygon: A polygon that is both
equiangular and equilateral
Example: A regular polygon has 12 sides. Find
the measure of each interior and exterior angle.
