Restructuring of ECITB existing frameworks into Craft, Technical & Professional Apprenticeship
frameworks

Each framework will cover occupations across various levels providing clearer progression
pathways
Further work on industry Higher Apprenticeship requirements
Apprenticeship Delivery Review Report presented to ECITB Main Board late 2012

Action plan under development involving all ECITB departments

Level 4 qualification in Advanced Craft Welding
Level 4/5 qualification in Welding Supervision
Level 2 qualification in Moving Loads

QCF qualification reviews following the outcome of recent NOS Review updates

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Further welding qualifications - The ECITB is developing 2 new welding qualifications.
Advanced Welding Techniques
This qualification will contain roughly 20 units covering subjects such as welding of exotic materials and welding in
difficult environments.

Welding Supervision
This qualification will contain around 10 units coving aspects such as team development and resource
management.
Subsea MJI and Wind Turbine MJI/Technical Training Standards
These will be developed during 2013

Training Standards are being developed for both of these qualifications.
Confined Space
Starting in March we will be developing a suite of Training Standards for confined space working.
