Right click on the white space
around the colored frame till a
menu drops down
•
Click “Print” on the drop down
menu

choose the correct printer
and the number of copies

MS Powerpoint and other
programs with image
support (PC)

Even if you have multiple windows open,
you can take a picture of just the
window you want by clicking on that
window and making sure it’s on top
•
Hold [Alt] and press [Print Screen] on
the keyboard to capture an image of
that window only

programs with image
support (PC)

Now the image is in the computer
Clipboard. Open up Powerpoint and click
the area you want to paste the picture
into, then hold [Ctrl] and press [V], or
right click the area and choose Paste
from the menu.
•
You can paste this image into several
other programs, including Photoshop,
MS Word, and MS Paint.
Mac Users (OSX only)
• The following slides will show you:
– How to grab screens for printing
– How to grab screens for use in other
programs
Note: Apple may not have straight-to-printer support for Flash.
You must save screen captures as images and print them separately.

On Apple systems, you must “grab” a
window and save it as an image to
print it.
•
Hold [Cmd] and [Shift] and press [4].
Then select the window you want and
press [Spacebar]. The cursor turns to
a camera. Click on the window you
want to take a screencapture of.
•
An file icon appears on the desktop this is a .tiff image.

Once you’ve saved the picture on the
desktop, you can print it.
•
Double-click the icon on the desktop,
and the image comes up in Preview.
Click the File menu and select “Print.”
•
Customize the settings using the print
preview window to make sure it’s how
you want it to look, then press the
print button.

clipboard for other
programs (MAC)

Instead of saving a file of the image, you
can make a copy of the tree to the
clipboard to paste into various programs.
•
Hold [Ctrl] and [Cmd] and [Shift] and press
[4]. Then select the window you want and
press [Spacebar]. The cursor turns to a
camera. Click on the window you want to
take a screencapture of it.
•
No window comes up, but you will be able to
paste this screencapture into MS
Powerpoint, MS Word, and other programs.
