An update from the PEFAC Board
October, 2010
Board Members:
Art Knight, President
Mat Smith, Treasurer
Brian Mellor, Fund Raising Coordinator
Bev Campbell, Pr. Edward County Councilor
Bill Halman, Maintenance Coordinator
Alastair Mathers, Vice President
Martin Stanley, Marketing Coordinator
Stephanie Roth, General Manager
President’s Notes:
particular thanks to Garett Heirschfeld for a
job well done in the women’s change room.
A new PEFAC program booklet has been
produced and will be distributed in local
newspapers at the end of October. Please
have a look at the great things that PEFAC
has to offer. Many thanks to Cyndl Powers,
PECI coop student & Tracy Powers for their
hard work putting this booklet together.
PEFAC is considering a free swim for the
community. This would provide a service to
the community and an opportunity for nonmembers to be introduced to the facility. The
board is interested in your thoughts on this
initiative.
HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY PEFAC! Staff
coordinated an open house event Monday,
September 20 to 24, a great success by all
accounts. If you know of someone who might
be interested in PEFAC, they can still get a
free day pass until December 31 – see
www.pefac.ca. Also, we are offering a
membership special - 1st Month: Only
$5+HST (yearly-based memberships only).
Art Knight
We encourage all members to attend the
PEFAC Annual General Meeting which will be
held Thursday, NOVEMBER 18th. The
meeting will start with complementary lunch at
12 (yes, there is such a thing as a free lunch!)
then the meeting will begin at 12:30. The
meeting will review the status of PEFAC and
the improvements that we have made over
the past year. The board of directors are all
volunteers and we need your ideas and
energy to keep PEFAC going! In addition, we
are looking for volunteers to help the board.

Upgrades to our facility have been moving
ahead under the direction of Bill Halman. We
have had allot of complements from members
on the upgrades to the women’s change
room. Please have a look at the Facility
updates section below for all of the other
projects that we have undertaken – many of
these may not be obvious to members, but
they are essential to keeping PEFAC running.
Congratulations to Bill and all of the folks that
have made these updates happen. In
