Overview
 The Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.) is
comprised of two components – placement and diagnostic.

Board in Rule 6A-10.0318.
 The computer-based P.E.R.T. Placement was first launched in
October 2010.
 The P.E.R.T. Diagnostics are aligned with the Developmental

Placement Scores
 Rule 6A-10.0315 authorizes assessments and minimum college
ready scores for postsecondary course placement purposes
 P.E.R.T. Placement interim college ready scores were approved by
the State Board of Education in December 2011
 The interim scores were identified using results from pilot testing and
prior placement rates for the Acculplacer/CPT
 Concerns expressed by colleges that placements are too high based
on the interim scores
 DOE is in the process of analyzing statewide data based on P.E.R.T.
Placement scores and student course performance
 McCann Associates and the DOE are planning standard setting over
summer/early fall to establish permanent cut scores

Dual Enrollment Eligibility
 For college credit dual enrollment eligibility, prospective students must
take a common placement test
 No state funding source is earmarked for the testing of prospective
dual enrollment students, K-12 nor Florida College System
 School districts and feeder Florida College System institution must
work collaboratively to administer the P.E.R.T. and share score results
 Administration process and responsibility for costs should be
documented in the District Interinstitutional Articulation Agreement
(Dual Enrollment Articulation Agreement, per House Bill 7059)
 P.E.R.T. administrations for prospective dual enrollment students are
considered high school attempts
 Accuplacer/CPT, ACT, SAT and FCAT 2.0 Reading are options for
dual enrollment eligibility

 P.E.R.T. Diagnostics are not required
 McCann Associates will improve student performance
reports
 Performance reports may be used by students and faculty
