Ryle Forensics Last Chance Invitational on Jan 31st
Kudos goes out to Scott High School Forensics team with their 5th place finish at
the Ryle Last Chance Invitational on Jan 31st (3rd place without congress points)
and the two Senior 1st place winners- Casey J Child in DI and Seth Neil Cooper in
POI!
Brianna Parsons took 6th in POI and placed 2nd in Duo Improv with partner Sydney
Hancock, Sam Smith 3rd in Improv Story, Mallory Mitchell 5th in Oratory and 4th in Duo
Interp with James Krauth, and Beth Schaefer took 6th in Broadcasting. The Scott
Forensics Team prepares next for Regionals on Feb 14th at Turkeyfoot Middle – rounds
start at 1:30, with the awards ceremony slated for 6 pm in the
gymnasium/auditorium. Regional competition is the prequalifier to the KHSSL State event
that is Mid March on the UK campus, and determines Regional/Runners Up in each
category in the NKY district.
Additionally, 4 students received their next seal of certification in the National Forensics
Speech and Drama honors program – they are:
Seth Cooper – Merit
Sydney Hancock – Honor
Stuart Nicholas – Honor
Beth Schaefer – Excellence

STUDENTS ATTEND ANNUAL REGIONAL DIVERSITY
CONFERENCE
A group of students from Scott High School
along with Teachers Debbie Pleasant and
Andrew Harris attended the Annual Regional
Diversity High School Student Education &
Leadership Conference on Friday, January, 30,
2015 hosted by The Bowles Center for
Diversity Outreach, Inc.
The conference was held at the Northern
Kentucky University Student Union and
offered the students excellent opportunities
for educational, cultural, and social leadership
development, as well as networking and
training to all of those in attendance.
Highlights of the conference included state
and regionally recognized education speakers
from across Indiana, Kentucky & Ohio.
