1. English Ability:
Students in the PARE
Program will participate in
lecture and discussions in
English, so the lack of
English proficiency is a
disqualifying condition for
participation.
Competent command of spoken and written English,
which corresponded to:
TOEIC 740, TOEFL(ITP/iBT/CBT) 550/80/213, IELT 5.5,
or other English certification that is equal/similar to the above.
2. GPA:
A minimum GPA of 2.30 from the previous year’s GPA.

Work on a single theme by forming groups with students from different
countries and disciplines
“food-and nutrition
-related issues”
“the sustainable use of
fossil fuels and land
resources”
“sustainable development
in urban and rural areas”
“environmental monitoring”
 Three (3) credits are awarded.
 The school will be held twice a year (Spring and summer) for two weeks each.
 The school involves lectures, field work, group discussion, group presentation
and report submission.
 Faculty members from the seven universities perform joint evaluation to
decide on grades.
 All attendees vote for the best presentation group.

The PARE Scholarship for
“Summer School @ Hokkaido, Japan” &
“Comprehensive/Specialized Subjects in Hokkaido University
① Scholarship: JPY80,000/month
② Period:
Maximum 1 year
③ Traveling Cost:
a) A round-trip ticket between an international airport from Sapporo and
Yogyakarta/Jakarta/Bangkok
b) A JR return ticket between Sapporo and Hakodate
(for student studying at Graduate School of Fishery Science in Hakodate)
In case applicants take the PARE Summer School 2014 as well as
Comprehensive/Specialized Subjects from October 2014,
the period of program supported by the PARE Scholarship will be from
Tuesday, 26th Aug until the end of completion of comprehensive/specialized
subjects , and the ticket will be provided only once.
