Watching TV Watching movies Surfing the web Playing video games Playing computer games Playing on handheld gaming devices Too much screen time may lead to: Gaining weight Poor sleep Poor grades in school Being more aggressive Why Reduce Screen Time? Active play You will have more time for riding bikes, playing with friends, etc. Reduce gaining unnecessary weight Sitting to play video games/watch TV may cause you to gain weight. Your body will benefit from active play. Why Reduce Screen Time? Sleep better Being more physically active helps you sleep better at night. Eat healthier foods Commercials often show foods that are not as healthy and should only be eaten occasionally. Facts about Screen Time How much time do kids spend watching TV a day?
