Industry Sectors
Transportation & CDL Initiatives
Grailing Jones, Schneider
As one of the Bay Area’s five
primary high-demand
occupation sector strategies,
we want to showcase and
emphasize the career potential
and tangible value in the
Transportation/Logistics
industry in an effort to attract,
encourage, and support
the right applicants for the
profession.
Industry Sectors
Transportation & CDL Initiatives
Grailing Jones, Schneider
How does the Bay Area team accomplish that goal?
1. Ensure our Job Center staff are knowledgeable in the
industry
2. Accurately promote, market, assess, and train suitable
candidates
3. Work closely with area transportation sector employers
to better connect skilled workers to job openings AND
provide intensive case management, supportive services,
and training funding to eligible participants
4. Follow up with employer and participant/new hires to
promote employment retention and evaluate program goals
Industry Sectors
Transportation & CDL Initiatives
Grailing Jones, Schneider
What can Schneider and other transportation
industry employers do to assist meeting their
skilled workforce needs?
1. Continue marketing employment opportunities with
workforce development staff;
2. Actively participate in employer field trips, work experience,
job shadowing, and internship programs to create a greater
awareness of industry and career opportunities; and
3. Anything else you think would be helpful…
