quality and safety of US healthcare
 The current way of educating nurses
does not meet the skill set needed for the
delivery of healthcare in the 21st century
 Nurse educators need to rethink the way
student nurses are taught, tested, and
certified for nurses to have a place at the
table and be in a position to lead
