Established in 1950 in the heart of the landaise forest,
Bois Tourné Aquitain was the first French manufacturer
of round handles in maritime pine.
Who are we ?
Made from natural wood, with
varnished or coloured finish, our
handles can be adapted to
individual customer requirements.
From our strength of knowledge in
wood manufacturing processes,
B.T.A. has developed an exclusive
manufacturing process : a unique
plastic moulding at the end of
broom handles.
This process makes it possible to
achieve an unrivalled quality of
finish and solidity.

Working in close partnership with its customers, B.T.A.'s,
main priority is constant research to ensure that it's
products are always up-to-date with market needs.
Durable certification
development
Bois Tourne Aquitain is also committed to sustainable
forestry. To ensure that our products conform to
European regulations relating to the environment, we
obtained double certification PEFC/FSC in 2005.
These certifications enable us to guarantee the
traceability of the raw material from the growth
source to the end product. PEFC and FSC Certifications
obligate industries in the sector to replant each tree
cut down, with the aim of preserving our environment
and maintaining the forests, the Earth's "lungs".
This enables the consumer to choose a product
manufactured with respect for forests and for wood
during all the stages of production.
Our products
SA Bois Tourne Aquitain specializes in the manufacture and
marketing of wooden cylindrical handles.
Our production processes enable us to offer exceptional
reactivity, technical excellence and quality control.
Our product range is wide and varied.
We produce round poles with diameters ranging from 8 mm
to 35 mm and in variable lengths (30 cm to 220 cm),
intended for the manufacture of finished products for
various types of activity

Handles for small brushes with staples, length 45 cm,
diameter 14 mm (varnished chestnut, wild cherry, colourless)

Innovation : the composite
SA Bois Tourne Aquitain innovates in the field of moulding by
using thermoplastic products starting from vegetable material
(wood, corn) for the injection of the ends: threaded and
attached.
Innovation : the wood brick
In order to maximise the value of the wood-chippings
produced by the manufacture of round handles, B.T.A. is
committed to using this waste (chips, tablets, sawdust) to
manufacture wood energy bricks.
A new company next door to
the current factory will
from September 2007
produce 4 tons per day of
900 gram Wood bricks.
