MALI HIDRO ELEKTRANI (MHE): SHPP
Jablanica in FYR Macedonia
After the successful implementation of the first SHPP projects in FYROM,
the sponsors of MHE, Feroinvest and Granit AD, are investing in another
SHPP, located in the region of the Piskupština village in the Western part
of the country.
The capacity of SHPP Jablanica plant is 3.5 MW. It is operated as a run-ofriver scheme with a typical layout, comprising a Tyrolean intake, a
desanding facility, an approx. 3.2 km long penstock and the powerhouse
with a Pelton turbine. The expected annual electricity generation is 9,677
MWh. The Consultant estimates the annual CO2 emission savings to be
6,774 t.
Completion of construction is scheduled for December 2014. The
construction activities will start in mid 2013.
