VICE - PRESIDENTS WORD
Dear Sri Lanka-friends,
When we think of Sri Lanka, we think of pristine beaches, we think of superb fruit, we think of friendly people. Looking a bit closer, we
see lush mountains and fertile soil, where the unrivaled Ceylon tea is picked by well trained and hard working women. These stereotypes
are generated by Sri Lanka's unique situation and geography which have made the country an ideal base for tourism and agriculture. At
the same time, however, these preconceived images may do forget that Sri Lanka is also a promising business destination.
Indeed, when the decennia long conflict came finally to an end, the Government started a program of major investments in
infrastructure and economic development. The first results are tremendous: whereas the whole world and especially the West was
suffering from a financial and economic downturn, Sri Lanka's GDP grew by 9,1% in 2010.
After a growth of 8% in 2011 (the second highest in Asia), the expectations for 2012 are at 7,2%. Given the global slowdown, a
remarkable performance!
As was already clear when the economic mission in November 2010 took place, there is a serious potential for cooperation by Belgian
businesses in this development. As a trading partner, as an investment destination, as a hub for exploring other markets in South Asia.
The subsequent trade missions and trade fairs have given new hope for more intense cooperation, even if many a Belgian or Luxemburg
business gets impatient when signing of contracts is delayed due to what is perceived as "less than clear" administrative rules.
While as a business council, we will continue to promote the opportunities for expanding economic and trade relations between
Belgium, Luxemburg and Sri Lanka, it is also our duty to insist on a maximum of clarity in the rules and transparency in procedures.
We are convinced that together we will solve the few remaining issues in order to reach new heights in our economic relations.
The populations of our countries will mutually benefit. After all, that's what it's all about.

The Ambassador for Sri Lanka in Belgium, H.E. Mr. Ravinatha Pandukabhaya Aryasinha left Belgium and is appointed to the
UN in Geneva as Ambassador for Sri Lanka. We wish H.E. Mr. Ravinatha Aryasinha all the best.

Thanks to the flexibility that distinguishes the Company, SAER is able to design and produce in a short time even products on demand,
integrating them in its wide range, giving to Customer a quality and efficient service.

To carry out a high efficiency pump or motor not only as prototype but as a serie
production, it’s not a design issue only. All aspects are realized in the project fulfillment.
Quality control department: from the beginning to the end, several controls are made
during the manufacturing process, checking values, measurements, materials, results.
Testing rooms: all trials on the pumps and motors are made in the two state of the art
laboratories, to test over 5000 m³/h.
Quality certification: the production is tested under different conditions; every part has to
be realized in accordace with high standard parameters.
SAER is certified ISO 9001:2008.
