Do you take part in extra-curricular activities?
Do you take part in activities (co)organized by school?
Do you take part in activities that are not organized by school?
Why yes?
Why no?
What for activities do you miss at our school?
From whom do you feel the biggest support?
Do you take advantage of taking part in extra-curricular activities?
What for profit should, in your opinion, students have?
Are you able to synchronize these activities with school?
Which activities organized by our school do you consider to be the
best ones?
How would you make these activities more attractive for students?
I.IV Attitude of Slovak universities to extracurriclar activities
• Most of universities do not pay attention to these
activities, students are even told not to mention
these activities in their application form
• Only at one faculty – Philosophical Faculty of
Comenius university – journalistic and marketing
communication – only own literar works
I.V Attitude of Slovak school system to these
activities
• In Slovakia these activities are not a part of curricula,
students do them in their free time
• Advantages – only when these activities are supported by
teacher
• Many problems:
•
•
•
•
Lack of tolerance from teachers
Lack of finance
They are not able to synchronize their work with school
Uninterest and uncooperation of their school-mates
• Students are not lead to „project thinking“, they are not
creative and cannot improvise; his can cause problems in
their future study at univerity
Our vision how o improve this:
• Teachers have to understand that these activities are not a
way hoe to play truant, they are many times much more
exhausting than study itself
• Students need to be motivated as well, projects give them
useful experience
• Propagation of projects
• Teacher who takes care about the activity is very important
• Support of school
• There should be some activities in every subject, so that
students would be able to choose which one(s) they want to
work at
• Education from young age
• Acceptation of achievments of students at universities
I.VI Questionaire among teachers
