each Corporate Goal in turn

a) agree the Improvement Objectives (IOs) for

b) Identify potential IOs Scrutiny Review in 2013/14

Workshop 1
• One 20 minute session for each of the 6
Corporate Goals
• Agree timekeeper, scribe and reporter
• In each session:
– Review the proposed Annual Objective(s)
– Suggest any amendments
– Suggest any additions
– Prepare feedback
• Feedback session after lunch
Session 1:
Conserving and Enhancing Biodiversity
Proposed annual objective:
• Biodiversity is conserved and enhanced
through practical action and public
engagement
Session 2:
Providing everyone with opportunities
for outdoor access and recreation
Proposed annual objective:
• A sustainably managed range of access
opportunities will be available and promoted
Session 3:
Raising awareness and understanding
of the Park
Proposed annual objectives:
• Deliver a visitor experience which exceeds
expectations
• Promote and develop a sense of shared
responsibility for both the National Park and
Geopark
Session 4:
Managing Park Landscapes to maximise
conservation and public benefits
Proposed annual objectives:
• The Park’s historic environment and cultural heritage
is conserved, enhanced and promoted
• The role of farming in making the Park’s landscapes
will be recognized
• The National Park’s landscapes will benefit from brad
scale and targeted conservation which will be
promoted.
Session 5:
Sustainable Economic Development
Proposed annual objective:
• The principles of Sustainable Development are
embedded in the economic activity of the
National Park
Session 6:
Building and maintaining sustainable
communities, towns and villages
Proposed annual objective:
• Initiatives that help facilitate sustainable
living, social resilience and community pride
will be supported
Workshop 2
1. From the agreed annual objectives, identify
those you consider should be Improvement
Objectives
2. From these, identify one that could be the
subject of a scrutiny review in the second
half of 2013/14
Next steps
• Outcome focused score cards prepared for each
objective
• Actions entered into Ffynnon for performance
monitoring
• Reporting rota for improvement objectives prepared
for reporting to ASC
