The main goal for the design of the html forms was simplicity.
I used an embedded table design to create the html forms so

ODBC used to connect to the Access database


What is ODBC and Why use it?
PHP will be used to access and manipulate the form data, as well
as provide the necessary ODBC functions to connect with the
database.


Getting data from the array into the database




The next design decision would be inserting the data from the
array into the database with the help of loops.
Since I am working with 2 dimensions, I would need to use
embedded loops.
Luckily PHP has a built in array loop function called “foreach( )”
This function automatically iterates over each element of the
array in order.

SQL commands to access the proper tables



Structured Query Language is used to communicate with a
database.
It is the standard language for relational database systems.
SQL statements are used to perform tasks such as update data
on a database, or retrieve data from a database. (insert, select…)

Report generator




The last part of this piece of software will be the report
generator.
Now that we have the data in the database, we need a way to
query it out in a customizable way for the user.
The preliminary design will follow the website format of the
surveys.

answered a certain question a certain way
