Remove Pocket PC from cradle
1. On Pocket PC Main Menu screen tap New Walkthrough
2. From Template category and in dropdown Tap All
3. Tap the blue highlighted All
4. Tap new Dropdown

6. Tap staff member
You should now see a screen with the staff members
name, date, time and some other information.
7. Exit program by tapping Back, (Cancel if given that option), Main Menu & Quit.
You are now setup and ready to start using eWalk.

To add a note to any element, do the following on your PPC.
1. Tap the N button.
2. Tap in the notes box
3. Tap the keyboard
icon to bring up
the keyboard
4. Type your note –
keep it short
5. If you have a bank of
comments, tap the dropdown
When entering notes in the note
section be sure to move your
cursor into the box on screen
before tapping

from the list

Uploading Data to Web
Return your PPC to the cradle. Check the synchronization by looking for the ActiveSync icon to
turn green and stop spinning at the bottom of your computer screen. You can also open up
ActiveSync and check the status for yourself.

Deleting Walkthroughs on Pocket PC
Once you know all the walkthroughs from the PPC have been transferred to the web site, you
should delete them from the PPC to keep the data from being over-written in any future uploads.
On Pocket PC in Cradle
1. Click eWalk in

3. Usually tap “Delete all

select a specific template.

At the top of your web browser click on TOOLS INTERNET OPTIONS this will open a
dialogue as shown below. Scroll down until you see an entry marked Print Background colors
and images. Ensure that this box has a check mark beside it.

Troubleshooting – Pocket PC won’t sync
1. Ensure the Pocket PC is firmly
seated in the cradle.
2. Ensure your Pocket PC is at the
blue “Home” screen with no programs
running. You must QUIT eWalk to
enable the Pocket PC to synchronize.
3. If password protected, add password.
4. Click the sync button in ActiveSync.

Troubleshooting – Can’t log on to Media-x
1. Check another internet site to ensure your internet is working.
2. Ensure the Media-x site name is correct. Common mistakes include
omitting the “S” in HTTPS and not capitalizing the K in Kentucky.
3. Type in your correct Media-x
user name - usually your whole email address.
4. Type in your correct Media-x
password - usually 1234 unless
you changed it
Once you’ve reached the login screen, it’s a good idea to save the site to your favorites. Label it
“eWalk” so it’s easy to remember. Later you can just select eWalk from the favorites list.

Troubleshooting – No template when
download is complete
Possible solution: Watch carefully for “38 bytes of data” after
“Sending post request” in the upload/download status box
1. Tap Upload/Download
2. Tap Download
3. Watch the status bar
closely. It will say “sending
POST request…” and then
“38 bytes of data received”

If you don’t see “38 bytes of data” check the error codes.

Possible Solution: Check for the correct system ID, User Name and Password on the
eWalk Settings for Server screen.
You may see this message.
Click OK and eWalk will
shut down automatically.
If so, the System ID, User Name or Password on the eWalk Settings
for Server screen may be wrong. See the next page.

Error Code: Error (463) Unknown error. Error –(507) Proxy Authentication Failed,
Possible Solution 1: The PDA may not be connected or synchronized.
Possible Solution 2: Check for correct proxy host on PDA Settings for Proxy Server
screen.

If so, the proxy host on the PDA Settings
for Proxy Server screen may be wrong.

Error Codes – 463; ID: 12007
Return your PPC to the cradle. Check the synchronization by looking for the ActiveSync icon to
turn green and stop spinning at the bottom of your computer screen. You can also open up
ActiveSync and check the status for yourself.
1. Ensure the PPC is securely
connected in the cradle. You might
tap it gently to ensure it’s seated.
2. Check the ActiveSync icon in the
lower right corner of your desktop
screen. It should be GREEN and
NOT SPINNING.
3. To doublecheck, click on the
ActiveSync icon and open
ActiveSync. Here you can see the
status, click the sync button, or
search for problems.

1. Tap Upload/Download
2. Tap Setup
3. Enter mxweb.media-x.com in the IP
Host window. Ensure other windows are
correct while you’re here.
4. Tap Return back to eWalk Main Menu
5. Quit eWalk
6. Resync the PDA (page 60) and try again.
