What is CCP?
• Replaces the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options
Program (PSEOP)
• Allows eligible students in grades 7-12 to enroll in
non-religious, non-remedial courses through a
college/university in Ohio and earn both high school
and college credit
• College courses may be taken on the campus of the
college, online through the college, or at the high
school (for select courses)
Potential Benefits
 Expands rigorous curriculum options
• Allows students to earn college credits
before graduating from high school
• May help reduce college costs and time
spent in college after high school graduation
• Allows students to experience college
course work and college life
• May expose students to diverse social
groups
Potential Risks &
Consequences
 May reduced opportunities for participating in high
school activities
 Increased time for travel, study, etc.
 Possibility of exposure to adult content and information
 Unable to be on first and third quarter honor roll
because grades are not available until completion of
each semester
 Failure to complete the course or withdrawal after
the drop deadline may result in all financial
obligations for that course defaulting to the
student/parents
Potential Risks/Consequences
 May not be 100% transferable to all colleges
and universities as the subject area in which
it was taught. (may be accepted as a gen ed class)
 Beginning collegiate academic transcript
 Increased responsibility for learning
Academic/Social Responsibility
• Academic core college courses will be
computed into the high school GPA using
the same weighted scale as Honors courses
• All college course final grades will be
computed in student’s cum GPA
 Attendance in college is totally up to the
individual student. Parents will NOT receive
notification if the student does not report to
class
Academic/Social Responsibility
 No progress reports sent home by college
 Students who need support services while
participating in CCP should utilize the available
support services at the institution they are
attending such as math, writing, or computer
labs.
 Student covers parking expenses.
Program Options
 Option A:
• Student is responsible for all expenses
• May enroll for college credit only or for both college and
high school credit
• May use this option to take courses beyond the yearly
allowable credit limit
• Option B:
• Enroll for both high school and college credit
• Student is not responsible for course expenses through a
public institution

Scheduling
• Formula to determine eligible amount of college
credits:
• High School credits x 3. Subtract result from 30
 Work with your Eastwood counselor to determine how
college courses will be applied towards Eastwood
graduation requirements
 Students may not drop a full-year course at Eastwood
to enroll in a second semester course at the university
Scheduling
 If you choose to drop CCP second semester
you must notify your guidance counselor
immediately as it may put you in jeopardy of
not graduating on time
 College school year schedule will be
different than Eastwood schedule (Christmas
and Spring Breaks do no coincide)
Scheduling
CCP hours:
 30 hours per academic year
 120 hours total for high school years
Calculate :
 Determine student’s number of high school ONLY
classes
 Multiply that number by 3
 Subtract the result from the number 30
 Difference is the total number of college credits that
CCP student may earn that academic year
EXAMPLE
1.
2.
3.
4.
Taking 4 high school classes
4 x 3 = 12
30 – 12 = 18
Total number of college credits for
academic year is 18
Athletes
 Full-time CCP must be enrolled in a
minimum of 12 hours or more of
