How to Check “Guide” version
• Ensure Guide version is the latest one
1) Double-click “Guide” to launch this app
2) Swipe the Charms bar from right hand side
3) Choose “Settings\Permissions”
Launch Guide
 If no ASUS “Guide” app  go to Windows Store to download & install [refer to Step 0-1]
 If not version 1.0.0.101 or 1.0.0.94  go to Windows Store to update app [refer to Step 0-2]
 If Guide version is correct, please go to: Offline Installation
Step 0-1: Install “Guide” app
(if ASUS Guide was removed)
*connected to Wi-Fi
Step 0-1. Install “Guide” app
• If user has not downloaded Guide app yet:
1) Switch to Start screen
2) Click “Store” tile
3) Swipe Charms bar from right hand side then click “Search” button

4) Type “Guide“ then click “search” button
*How to quickly find the right “Guide” app:
4-1) Choose Tools out of All categories to filter .

Step 0-1. Install “Guide” app
• User has to log in Live ID for MS Store:
1) User has to access personal Live ID account, for instance hotmail, Skype or
Xbox Live account, to proceed apps installation.
2) If user doesn’t have any Live ID account, please follow the steps to apply new
account to proceed installation:
 Access the Windows Live ID URL link.

 Follow MS requirement to apply new account
Step 0-1. Install “Guide” app
• Click “install” button , start to download “Guide” app.
• Check if the Guide version has been
updated after installation is completed.
Step 0-2: Update “Guide”
(if ASUS Guide version is older)

• If Guide app is not the latest version,
1) Switch to Start screen
2) Click “Store” tile
• When entering MS Store:
1) Check top right-hand corner for app updates
2) Click “Updates”

• It shows all app updates for those apps you already
downloaded
• User can choose “select all “ or select those apps you want to update
– After choose, press “install” button
– Start installing updates

Step 2. Preparation – Download Demo App Package
1. Prepare 2GB (at least) Micro SD or USB flash (with micro USB
adaptor)
2. Download “ME400C/CL demo video by your country/language”
from “ASUS DEMO Program Resource Site” to the Micro SD card
or USB flash and unzip

Step 3 .In store installation - Setup DEMO Video
1. Plug in the Micro SD Card/ USB flash in to the demo unit
2: Go to [File Manager] -> [Libraries] -> [Videos]
and create “ASUSDemo”->(Must be the same wording,
otherwise it cant be read.)
3: Copy the Video and srt.file to ASUSDemo

2. Swipe the Charms bar on the right
3. Choose [ASUS Demo Setting]

- Launch ASUS Demo Setting
4. Turn on “Play ASUS Demo Video while idle”
5. Click “wait when idle” to 1minute.

- Setup DT StartMetro app
1: Go back to Desktop mode.
2: Open [StartMetro1.0.3] file in USB or SD card -> [Setup]

9: Execute Start Metro App
– Double-click “StartMetro” shortcut
– In the lower right of Taskbar, right click StartMetro icon and choose
“Enable” function, DEMO video will start running and screensaver will be
launched as well. (This step is the most important !!!!)

How to reset for sample resell

Launch the Reset function
• Step 1: get into the Start screen
• Step 2: swipe the charms bar and choose “Settings”.
• Step 3: choose “Change PC Settings”.

Launch the Reset function
• Step 4: in the PC settings, choose “General” function
• Step 5: slide down the right page and find out “Remove
everything and reinstall windows” function.
• Step 6: click “Get Started” button.

Execute Reset function
• system will automatically start Reset function and user just
follow steps to execute.
– Step 7: in first page, remind user if accept the system reset device,
what will happen. Just press “Next” button
– Step 8: in next page, choose “Fully clean the drive” function. And
then, follow MS request and make sure the device is always plug-in
adapter and others don’t touch this device during the reset process.
– After almost 20~30 mins, the system will finish reset function and get
into OOBE environment.
