Use the forward arrow button to advance the screens.

Use the back arrow to return to previous screens.

Or wait and you will automatically be taken to the next screen...

End Follow the slideshow to see how, for each pupil, the Scorer/Profiler calculates

chronological age

,

standardised score

and

reading age

, and generates a

Pupil Profile

including a diagnostic analysis.

See how it also generates a comprehensive range of

group

performance analyses, calculating group summary statistics, including minimum, maximum and mean raw scores and standardised scores, standard deviation, and comparisons with national norms.

What’s NEW in this version?

End * All four ERT Scorer/Profilers are included on the same CD.

* A Wizard makes it easy to enter pupils’ details and their test results.

* You can now use the program over a network.

* Improved graphics.

* Peripatetic users can now save pupil and test data by school.

End You can choose where you want the program installed. The installer will install all four ERT Scorer/Profilers and place an icon on your desktop.

End Clicking on the desktop icon will show this menu screen: Choose the ERT Scorer/Profiler you want to use, or look at the demo or view the manual. You can also register to receive email notification of updates to the program.

End

Network Use

The Settings function allows you to choose where you want all your data stored - this can be your local drive or on the network (probably giving you automatic backup).

You can add pupil details and test data to the program either through an easy-start Wizard or via the main application.

End

End

The Wizard

The Wizard takes you through the data-entry process step by step. It guides you through setting up a Cohort (giving each group of pupils a unique identifier - for example, the year the group entered your school), adding pupils to the Cohort and then entering their test results.

The Main Application

End The toolbar at the top of the screen, used with the ‘tree’, on the left of the screen, gives you access to all the functionality of the program.

From here you can add pupils, cohorts and classes, print reports, look at the result list and much more.

The Navigation Tree

End As you add pupils to the database, they are listed on the tree on the left of the screen. There is a node for each School (if more than one school name has been entered - useful for peripatetic staff) and, below that, separate nodes for Cohort and Pupil. The Cohort node lists all cohorts in the school, split by class. The Pupil node lists all the pupils in the school alphabetically.

Entering Pupil Details

End All the pupil details needed to run the Scorer/Profiler and to produce reports are added via this screen.

If you enter a school name, this will be included on all the reports. If the data are already stored in an electronic format, they can be imported.

End

Entering Test Results

Test results can be entered via the main application - by selecting the appropriate Cohort on the ‘tree’ and then by clicking Manage Cohort (for groups) or Add Test Data (for individual pupils) on the toolbar - or via the Wizard. In either case, the results are added using a screen similar to the one on the next slide.

(This one is from the Wizard.)

End

End

Entering Test Results - cont.

All you need to do is to enter the test date (today’s date is set as the default), change the class if necessary, and then type in the ERT subtest scores. Or you can import them.

The program will then calculate the standardised score, percentile and reading age, and plot a graph showing each pupil’s performance, as shown on the next slide.

End

End

Pupil Profile

You can view/print a Pupil Profile, giving a complete summary of the pupil’s test results. First highlight the pupil in the ‘tree’, select the required test date and then click

Print

on the toolbar.

The Pupil Profiles for a whole cohort can be printed from the

Manage Cohort

button on the toolbar.

End

Group Performance

To look at analysis.

group

performance, select the Cohort or Class whose data you wish to analyse from the ‘tree’ as shown on the left. Then select the test date(s) you wish to include in the You will then see a screen like the one on the next slide. It shows summary statistics for the group - for all pupils, and split by gender - with graphs of the raw score distributions and the standardised scores compared to the national distribution.

End

Group Performance - cont.

You can also view the performance graphs for just boys, just girls, or boys and girls, where the raw and standardised score distributions are shown. Or you can look at subtest performance - just click on the radio button next to the subtests in which you are interested.

All these graphs can be printed, together with the summary statistics shown above the graphs. End

End

Result List

Click on the

Result List

button on the toolbar to access the List facility and options. You will first see this form. If you already have a cohort highlighted, its details will be in the cohort box. To change this, simply select another cohort from the drop-down list.

Select the test date(s) you want to be included and choose how you want the data listed, then click on

View

. An example is shown on the next slide.

The Concern? column shows pupils whose reading age is a year or more behind their chronological age. End

Exporting Data

The data contained in any of the Result Lists can be exported to a .csv file.

This file can then be opened by most spreadsheet packages. This will allow you to perform further analysis on your data if you so wish.

End

Goodbye

Thank you for viewing our slideshow. We hope the

Scorer/Profiler

will help you to get more out of your assessment data!
