Report Titles
• Two reports that are sent from CCACs (CHRIS) to a Provider:
1. “Service Referral” Report
2. “Frequency Change” Report
Note: Both reports contain the same
information and layout of information (ie)
Information Headers, Service and Client
Information etc.
Slide 9
Message Flags
• Header of Reports & Document Description in HPG Inbox
will now display 5 message flags when attached to a Report:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
New
Discharge
On/Off Hold
Service Updates
Other Updates
Slide 10
Purpose of Message Flags
• Outline the Updates completed on the patient’s file in CHRIS
since the last sent report (or the activity completed
example: ‘New’ or ‘Discharge’)
In Addition, the report displays:
• Updates to the patient information listed in the report will
be listed in the ‘Summary of Changes’ section
Provider’s in HPG can:
• Search the HPG Inbox for message flags as part of the
document description using the wildcard
Slide 11
How do the message flags work?
• Message flags attach to a report based on the activities
completed in CHRIS (discharge, on/off hold, service updates
or client information updates)
• The Report Message flags are automatically decided by
CHRIS based on:
1. Report Selected (when manually sending a report)
2. Activities Completed

Example
• CCAC CHRIS user places client ‘On Hold’ (chooses not to
notify Providers as part of the On/Off Hold Wizard)
• Updates Referral Caseload, and Frequencies
• Selects to ‘Send Service Referral’ from Provider Level Action
Drop Down
Slide 15
Provider Notification Notes
1. If the wizard was used to ‘Notify Providers’ versus the action
drop down, than the title of the report would be ‘Frequency
Change
2. Summary of Changes section outlines all changes completed
on the patients file since the last sent report
3. On/Off Hold flag identified because it is higher up on the list
than ‘Service Updates’ (Frequency) and Other Updates (CCAC
Contacts, Active Services)
Slide 16
Reports and Message Flags
• The ‘Title’ of the report (Document Type in HPG) is dependent
on the CHRIS user selection when manually sending a report
(using the Provider Action Drop Down in CHRIS)
This has an effect on 3 message flags and possible combinations:
1. Service Referral (On/Off Hold) or Frequency Change (On/Off
Hold)
2. Service Referral (Service Updates) or Frequency Change
(Service Updates)
3. Service Referral (Other Updates) or Frequency Change (Other
Updates)
Slide 17
Searching the HPG Inbox
To ensure you are receiving all Reports (regardless of report title),
search using the document description of the message flag and/or
BRN and wildcard (*)
1. Select your Document Types
1. Search Document Description (*) + message flag (Ex: On/Off
Hold)

Tips and Tricks so you don’t miss a ‘message’
Slide 19
Reports: Automatic Generation
• Expected in 2015, the automation of report generation (as
introduced in HPG 3.3/CHRIS 2.5)
• OACCAC working on and testing minor fixes to the solution
Slide 20
Impact of Automation
• Report Title and Message flag will be automatically matched as
follows (when the report is sent automatically by CHRIS):
1. Service Referral (New) – current functionality
2. Service Referral (Discharge) – current functionality
3. Frequency Change (On/Off Hold) – uses Data Settling or On/Off
Hold Wizard
4. Frequency Change (Service Updates) – uses Data Settling
5. Frequency Change (Other Updates) – uses Data Settling
*Note: CHRIS users can override data settling and select to manually send report before 30
minutes of inactivity. The appropriate message flag will attach to the report selected by user
Slide 21
New Enhancement
• To further enhance workflow and efficiencies, Provider
Notification Notes section of reports have been improved to
include:
1. Separate Section on the Service Referral/Frequency
Change Report
2. Last Transmitted Date/Time stamp for old notification
notes
This will be included in the December 10, 2014 release of CHRIS 2.5.2
Slide 22
• This enhancement will assist providers to identify when
Provider Notification Notes pertain to the report being sent
(no previously transmitted date/stamp present)
Or
• Have been transmitted on a previous report and carried
over onto the most recent report being sent

Summary of Changes
Summary of Changes section will list sections of the referral that have been
updated since the last sent report. In the example above, Medical Contacts
have been updated. This will direct the user to that section of the report to see
updated information
