Pump Orders: Carbohydrate Dose

the carbohydrate bolus is 1 unit of
Insulin to 20gms of carbs and from
10am to midnight the ratio is 1unit for
every 30gms of carbohydrates

Pump Orders: Insulin Correction
Indicates that for every 1 unit of
insulin the student’s blood glucose
will drop 120 mg/dl. This would
then be the correction factor to
use if the pump malfunctioned and
insulin needed to be given by
syringe or insulin pen. Ex: BG 240,
would give 1 unit to drop BG to
target range of 120.
