Pathways to Prosperity Notes
“We have focused too exclusively on a few narrow pathways to
success. We need to broaden the lens and build more articulated
pathways.”
“Behaving as though a four-year college is the only acceptable route
to success is not acceptable. Many students are frustrated by an
education they often find irrelevant and removed from the world of
work.”
“Our current system places far too much emphasis on a single
pathway to success: attending and graduating from a four-year
college after completing an academic program in high school.
Students who are bored and at risk of dropping out need to be
engaged more effectively.”

Skill requirements are changing…
are you keeping up?
“Organizations struggle to find people who bring skills and
qualities needed, with individuals with yesterday’s skills face
dismal job prospects. The evidence is that skill problems in
the U.S. work force are widespread and growing.”
