your counsel and assistance. Your gentle encouragement and persistence was so
appreciated. Your ability to succinctly summarize our goals and objectives was a
catalyst for discussion and consensus. Your ability to work with a very strong group
of personalities, allowing everyone to feel heard and have input was what led to this
being a positive and successful process.”—Emily Blanck, Executive Director,

I believe the essentials of successful planning in any organization involve good
team work, excellent leadership, and a focus on core questions: What are we
deciding? What do we want? Why? What resources are needed (including human
assets)? How can we get the resources we need and use them productively? How
will we measure success? What actions to take and when? How can we learn as
we take action?
