The prefix G
– emphasizes the pioneering spirit of the Chinese immigrants in wanting a
better life for their children in building the school called Gongshang.
The word Spears
– connotates a collective and generative effort of many supportive parents. The
spear symbolizes a common vision and unity in strength to partner the school
in building lasting characters and an all rounded world class education

• Orientation activities
• No formal lessons - no need to bring
books on the first day
• Name tag to be worn at all times
• To bring stationery, water bottle (only
plain water), pocket money (about $1$1.50) and snacks for recess (optional)
• Please label all personal items
• Lessons will begin on 7 Jan 2014

Dismissal for the First 3 Days
2 - 6 Jan 2014
• Pupils will be dismissed at 5.45 pm.
• Parents will be allowed into the school
canteen to fetch their children.
• Pupils taking the school buses will join
the P2 pupils for the flag lowering
ceremony at 6.00 pm.

Car Policy
• As safety of our children is always our first
concern, no private cars are allowed into the
school premises during peak arrival and
dismissal times:
11.30am to1.30pm and 5.30 to 6.30pm
• On rainy days, cars are allowed into the
school premises only after all the school
buses have left.

• Parents are allowed into the school during
recess on the FIRST DAY only and watch
from behind the cordoned area.
• Parents are not allowed to buy food for
their children in the canteen.
• Please also do not bring food for your
children during recess.
• This is to allow your children to be
independent.

Buddy System
The school will arrange for Primary 4 pupils to
assist the Primary 1 pupils during their
recess( 2-6 Jan ), like queueing up to buy
food/drinks and getting a seat to eat their
food, showing them where the toilets are etc.

Children Not feeling well /
Emergencies

If your child is not feeling well, he/she should
inform the teacher in the classroom.
Your child will be taken to the SICK BAY in the
General Office.
Parents will be informed to come to school to
bring your child home or to see a doctor.
If there is an urgent need for medical treatment,
the school may send the sick pupil to the nearest
clinic or call for an ambulance if necessary.

Leaving School Early
• Should you need to bring your child home

register your intention.
DO NOT go directly to the classroom to
pick up your child.
All parents must sign in at the Security Post
and complete the ‘Permission to leave
school early’ form in the office.

Group Accident Policy
The school will be taking up a group
protection policy with an insurance
company to cover all pupils for any accident
injury occurred during school activities
within the school as well as outside the
school.
More details will be given next year.

• Yearly medical check-up by the Health
Team from HPB
• Includes medical examination,
immunisation, hearing and eyesight tests
• Parents will be informed of the check-up
dates
• Collect child’s Health Booklet which
contains all previous immunisation
