Workstream 1 : Advocacy – Q1 2014 meeting Update from WHO on next steps for advocacy of recognizing health logistics as a profession:  Finalizing Declaration from Cotonou so that it can be shared with partners  Developing a resolution for a ministerial conference (e.g. one below)

Ministerial Conference on Implementation of GVAP in Africa - Q1-2014

[…] The main objective of holding this ministerial conference is to obtain the commitment of each country to implement the strategies included in GVAP to strengthen immunization, increase demand for immunization services and accelerate the introduction of new vaccines to eradicate, eliminate and/or control VPDs in Africa. Such a conference will aim to bring together a wide variety of stakeholders to include: Ministers of Health, Ministers of Family & Social Welfare, Ministers of Women’s Affairs, Managers of National Immunization Programmes, bilateral & multilateral partners, CSOs, NGOs and private foundations.

Evaluation Distance learning Internship

Distance learning 1 and face to face session examination completed. Scores not yet available. Distance learning 2: evaluations at distance (limited time, not supervised) Internship: scores will be calculated from internship report (60%), student behaviour and technical competencies evaluated by supervisor on site (40%) Formative evaluation: analyses in progress 3 CDRoms pour distance learning phase 2 (Sent August, September and October) To be sent to WHO country offices (to be picked up students – already done during the first phase) About 50% will do the internship in their duty station Specification document developed – to be shared with participants

Next steps

Sign equipment transfer agreement with MoH Official presentation of these equipments to the Minister of Health. About 100 guests invited at Comé for this presentation. AMP will document the event. EPI and cold chain/logistics training (4 modules) for health agents (37 agents and 5 facilitators) of the demonstration site are prepared and give with support of AMP in July, 25th-26th Solar equipment training to be conducted by SELF (2 weeks training starting 29th July) • Working with IIC members of Benin to include the identified changes in the cMYP to ensure availability of funding for its implementation
