The main areas of assessment
Legislation: Law on Statistics, professional independence, coordination
within the statistical system, the Council of Statistics, confidentiality
National statistical system: principles, structure, dissemination
policy, interaction with the government and other users, access to
administrative sources
National Statistical Office: internal organisation and mission,
planning, HR, IT
Statistical Infrastructure: registers, demographic statistics,
household budget surveys, business statistics, agricultural statistics,
prices, national accounts and other areas.

Recommendations of the Assessment and
implementation
State Council of Statistics headed by Prime Minister of Republic of
Kazakhstan (the first meeting was held on 12 July 2008)
Development of the Agency’s Strategic Plan for 2009-2011 (approved with
government resolution N 1188 as of 20 December 2008)
Development of the draft Law of Republic of Kazakhstan On the State
Statistics
Establishment of the Agency’s Centre for Training and Research (The
Information and Computing Centre for Training and Research of the Statistics Agency
of Republic of Kazakhstan was established with order №153-П on 27 November 2008)
System of Quality Management (the agency has been certified as meeting
requirements of state ISO 9001-2001 standard)

data fully reliable (1076 respondents)

Agency’s work (962 respondents)
