You only register for the project module in February prior to the August or
January you intend completing it, i.e. if submitting in August 2008 or
January 2009, you will register for the module in February 2008.
Credits & Weightings
All taught modules are worth 7.5 ECTS
credits (European Credit Transfer System).
The PROJECT is worth 30 credits.
All taught modules are weighted 100.
The PROJECT is weighted 350.

Transfer
Graduate Diploma to Masters
Students on the Grad Dip who obtain one of the
following will be given the option to transfer to the
MASTERS
1.
an average of 55% in the first 4 modules
taken and passed at FIRST ATTEMPT
2.
an average of 55% in ANY 6 modules they
pass at FIRST ATTEMPT
Transfer
Cert to Diploma
Cert students may transfer to the Graduate Diploma
having successfully completed 4 modules.
Students MAY be required to attend an interview.
*EU Cert students are not eligible for reduced fees*
You can only receive one award (Cert. or Dip. or
MEng.)
Students can also transfer between Programmes at
the same level, depending on modules taken.
Examinations

Semester 1: Mon 14 Jan - Fri 25 Jan .
No Autumn Repeats on these Programmes – if you
fail, you can register as a Repeat Student and
retake it at next sitting

Deferrals and Absences
To defer an entire academic year, complete a
‘Deferral of Academic Year’ (R-32) form

Unexplained absences from exams result in a
FAILED ATTEMPT. Therefore:

The Project
Projects are allocated ONCE a year, at the
beginning of February (for students
submitting a project in the following August
and January ONLY)
Allocation based on aggregate marks if two
students select the same project
Students can choose their own topic
Projects are submitted in EITHER January or
August – if a submission date is deferred, you
will be expected to submit at the NEXT
submission opportunity
