Al Qadaa’ wal Qadr
The Divine Decree
The meaning of al qadaa and al
qadar


Al Qadaa “the perfect command, decree, ruling
and perfect accomplishment and execution of
that”
Al Qadar “Allah’s knowledge of the future of His
Creation”
In fact the two terms are interchangeable when
used individually, but when used together Al
Qadar means the predestination of things, and
when matter occurs, it is then called Qadaa.
Some Textual proofs for al Qadar

Textual proofs for al qadar

“No slave of Allah will believe until he
believes in Al Qadar, its good and bad, is
from Allah and until he knows that what
has befallen him was not going to pass
him by, and that what has passed him by
was not going to befall him.”


With Him are the keys of the unseen, none knows them but He. And He
knows whatever there is on the earth and in the sea; not a leaf falls, but He
knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything
fresh or dry, but is written is a Clear Record” 6:59
Had Allah known of any good in them, He would have made them listen,
and even if He had made them listen, they would but have turned away,
averse. 8:23

Allah knows best with whom to place His Message. 6:124


the will of Allah
O Allah, Possessor of the Kingdom, You
give the Kingdome to whom you will, and
you take the kingdom from whom you will,
you ehdue with honour whom you will and
you humiliate whom you will. In yours
hands is the good. Verily! You are able to
do all things. 3:26
Verily Allah does what He wills 22:14
Al Khalq

The Creation
Verily! Allah is the Creator of everything, and He is the
disposer of all affairs.” 39:60
The Two Extremes:
Al Jabariyya: man has no real will and no real action and is like a
feather in the wind
Al Qadariyyah: man is the creator of his own actions by his ability
and by his will. The Prophet called them the majoos of this ummah.
The middle way of ahl sunnah:
You cannot will unless Allah wills 76:30
