
The goal of a state tournament is to have the
best team from each geographic area which
makes our state tournament truly a “state”
tournament.
The tournament is designed to crown a champ.
Geography is the only consideration for making
assignments.
Revenue is not a factor in assignments.
Schools can request where they want to go but
IHSA staff follows policy.

Perspective is Educational
School2Life
Know that students in your school will pursue
championships, but in the process they will also
work toward an education, a sense of personal
growth, loyalty and leadership. They will
develop character and integrity and achieve a
higher sense of purpose. The experiences
offered through activities will not end when
they graduate. It will continue on to the most
important journey of all…their life.
