ICC Coordinators
“environment heroes”
ICC coordinators are volunteers who give their
own and their organization’s time and resources
to this global environmental movement
What are their roles and
responsibilities?
ICC coordinators have the following roles and
responsibilities when agreeing to participate in the ICC:
Liaison between organizations,
institutions and communities
Recruitment of volunteers
Distribution of Cleanup
materials and supplies
Local sponsors identification
Site location identification
Organize and
supervise the event
Collation & submission of all
reports, data cards, photos,
videos to the ICC Philippine
Coordinator

Before the cleanup
Coordinate with the ICC Philippine Coordinator or
partner coordinators (i.e. Central and Regional Offices
of DENR, DOT, DepED, DPWH, MMDA, DOST, DND,
DOTC: PCG/PCGA, PPA, MARINA; LGUs PG ENRO, City
or Municipal ENRO and Tourism Offices, NGOs) for
orientation meetings, distribution of ICC materials.

Holding your own ICC
orientation as an
opportunity for:
► dispersing the mechanics of ICC
► distribution of materials (i.e., datacards, tarps,
brochures)
► building-up your network of cleanup volunteers
► acquiring sponsors/donors
Identify your cleanup sites through the local government and
organizers (i.e. DENR (PENROS, CENROS) DOT Regional
Offices; PCG/PCGA; LGUs : PG ENRO, City & Municipal
ENROs, and Tourism Offices) or the Civil Society ICC
Organizers (Masons, Rotary, Lions, Jaycees, etc.
► Inspect cleanup sites and take pictures to include in
orientation meetings
Coordinate sites with the local
government for permission and
assistance (i.e., garbage truck,
fire truck for water, etc.)

Reminders on ICC
Day
► By 5 A.M., set up tents for registration,
first-aid station, & drinking and post
banners/signs to guide volunteers
► Make sure sign-in sheets, ICC materials,
and pencils/ pens are ready. Have a
labeled box at the check-in station for
returning accomplished data cards
► Remind volunteers to fill-up all necessary
information, to use tick marks to record
debris and to return data cards after the
cleanup to the registration table or to Site
Coordinators.
► Encourage volunteers to work on teams
of four or five to facilitate collection,
sorting & recording
► Make sure the waste hauler
takes all the trash away, and
that no other materials are
left behind
► Be prepared for health
emergencies
Post - ICC activities for
Coordinators
► Be sure to collect all the data cards and summaries from each area
coordinator/ organization
► Accomplish the reporting forms using the e-format provided in the CD
given during the orientation meeting (or ask for a copy by e-mail).
Make sure all information are filled-up in detail, especially for multiple
sites and organizations (see Handbook for Coordinators in the CD for
proper estimations).
OR YOU CAN USE THE MS Access program to fill-out the ICC Database
provided in the CD.
