What is Learning for Life?
Learning for Life is a not-for-profit
corporation that partners with schools and
other community organizations to deliver
character development and career education
programming to youth.
Mission
It is the mission of Learning for Life to
enable young people to become responsible
individuals by teaching positive character
traits, career development, leadership, and
life skills so they can make ethical choices
and achieve their full potential.
Programs
• Six school-based, age appropriate programs
for students in Kindergarten through high
school including special needs.
• One worksite-based program for high
school and college students – Exploring.
What is Exploring?
• Hands-on career education program.
• Young men & women aged 14 (and graduated the
8th grade) or 15 through 20.
• Color, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation,
ethnic background, economic status, or citizenship
is not criteria for participation.
What is Exploring?
• Program is developed by participation
organization whose resources match the interests
of youth in the community.
• Organization forms a “post” that is youth-directed.
• Youth elect officers and plan post activities based
on organization’s capabilities.
What is Exploring?
• Adult leaders are selected by the
participating organization and provide
training and guidance to youth leaders.
• Organization owns their post, and local
council provides support.
