• Promotion Criteria
• An aggregate score not exceeding 19 points for EL,
Math & best 3 subjects;
• A grade of 5 or better for all subjects used for
computation

• Collect Sec 5N booklist for 2014

Retained in Sec 4N(A) [for N(A) students]
•Retention Criteria
• An aggregate not exceeding 21 points for ELMAB3;
• Or not exceeding 14 points for ELB3
• Or not exceeding 14 points for MAB3
• Overaged by not more than 4 years for Singaporeans and
PRs (born on/after 1 jan 1994);
• Overaged by not more than 2 years for International
Students (born on/after 1 Jan 1996)
• Sat for the GCE ‘N(A)’ Level Exam only once previously.
•Students who meet the repeat criteria and would like to repeat
their study in our school are required to see Mrs Clara Ang (HOL
Sec 4/5) or Ms Lim Li Kiang immediately after the release of
results.
•All applications must be submitted by 23 Dec 13 (Mon) 10 am.

Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP)
• For N(A) students who are academically strong
and clearly polytechnic bound
PFP eligibility: ELMAB3 ≤11
EL ≤ 2 or 3 and MA ≤ 3
• Suitable for students with blended learning styles
(conceptual and applied)
• The PFP is a one-year foundation programme for
polytechnic-bound students and are given provisional
places in diploma programmes, subject to them
passing all modules in the one-year PFP.

ITE DES-to-Poly Programme (DPP)
• For N(A) students who are fairly strong academically
DPP eligibility: ELMAB3 ≤ 19 points
EL ≤ 3 or 4 and MA ≤ 4
• Suitable for students whose learning styles are more
application-based and hands-on
• Advantage of choosing DPP over Sec 5N
• Direct entry to Higher Nitec, which is otherwise only
available for O-level holders
• Students assured of 1st or 2nd year place in related poly
Diploma course, if they attain qualifying GPA scores

Timeline for DPP / PFP 2014
For students who are only interested in the PFP:

You should progress to Sec 5, and apply for the PFP in
January. Students who have accepted their PFP offers will
withdraw from Sec 5 by the end of January.
Being eligible to apply for the PFP does not guarantee a
successful placement into a PFP course.
For students who are only interested in the DPP:

You should apply to the DPP between 19 to 23 Dec.
Students who have accepted their DPP offers in December
should not continue with Sec 5.

Timeline for DPP / PFP 2014
For students who are uncertain and/or interested in both PFP
and DPP:
•If you are
certain that you do not want to continue with Sec 5
and pursue the GCE O-Levels, you may apply for the DPP in
December. Upon the release of the GCE O-Level results in
January, eligible students may apply for the PFP. If you are offered
and accept a PFP place, you may withdraw from the DPP.
Alternatively,
•You may progress to Sec 5 first. Upon release of the GCE O-Level
results in January, you may then apply for the PFP and DPP
concurrently

Application of DPP
• Sec 4N(A) students who obtain ELMAB3 ≤ 19 will have
the option to enrol into DPP at ITE.
• Students accepted into the DPP will enrol directly into
Higher Nitec courses and subsequently are given a
place in a related Poly Diploma course, if they meet
the GPA requirements.
• Eligible students will receive “Form N”.
• Applications should be made through the ITE website
(www.ite.edu.sg)
• Successful applicants are required to attend a 10-week
preparatory course prior to their Higher Nitec courses.

Enhanced Nitec Foundation Programme
For N(T) students
• This course is for students who obtain ‘0’ or ‘1’ GCE ‘N” level
pass.
• This 3-year Nitec Course is designed to help students learn at a
pace more suitable for their learning needs.
• In addition to the 2-year Nitec courses offered under JIE ‘N”
intake, these students are also eligible to apply for the 3-year
Nitec courses under JIE ‘E’ intake.
• A personalised letter will be also issued to these students. For

incur an administration charge of S$50 per certificate.
