In addition to completing coursework in the
main disciplines, diploma candidates must
• complete an extended essay (4000 words) in a
subject area that he/she has studied.
• complete Theory of Knowledge I and II (100
hours).
• fulfill requirements (150 hours) in the areas of
creativity, action, and service (CAS).
All courses include internal assessments
and a final IB exam.
Students will earn college credit based on
IB test performance.

Recognitions
Honor Graduates: seniors who rank in the top
10% of the class (after the 1st semester of the
senior year).
NC Scholars: overall 4-year average of “B”
(3.5) or better and must have taken prescribed
courses.
President’s Award for Educational
Excellence: must have successfully completed
prescribed courses, have a minimum of 3.5 GPA,
and either a verbal SAT of 630 or a math SAT of
640.
