To graduate beginning with the 2015 Senior
Class students must pass the following STAAR
(EOC) Exams.
 English I
 English II
 Algebra I
 Biology
 US History

English Language Arts- 4 credits



Social Studies- 3 credits

•Two levels same language or computer programming language.

 Physical Education – 1 credit

WHAT IS AN ENDORSEMENT?

An endorsement is a targeted area of study
much as a student would pick a college major or
minor.
There are 5 endorsements
WHAT ARE THE FIVE ENDORSEMENT
AREAS ?

1. STEM - (Science, Technology-including computer science, Engineering,
and Math)

Advanced Mathematics, Advanced Science, Computer Science, Career & Technical
Education Courses in Technology and Engineering

2. Public Services

Education and Training, Human Services, Law Enforcement, Government &Public
Administration, Health Science, JROTC






3. Business and Industry
Agriculture Food and Natural Sciences, Architecture and Construction, Arts, A/V
Technology and Communications, Business Management and Administration,
Finance, Hospitality and Tourism, Information Technology, Manufacturing,
Marketing, Transportation Distribution Logistics, Journalism, Public Speaking or
Debate, and Newspaper
4. Arts and Humanities
Social Studies, Languages other than English, American Sign Language, Art, Dance,
Music and Theatre
5. Multidisciplinary Studies
This endorsement provides students the opportunity to take a variety of courses from
each of the other four endorsement areas.

In order to graduate with an endorsement, you
must have 26 credits, including:



4 math credits
4 science credits
2 additional elective credits

SENIOR?










According to Princeton Review colleges/universities
require seniors to have the following high school
courses:
English – 4 years
Math – 4 years
Science – 3 or 4 years depending on the college and
student college major
Lab Science – 3 years
Foreign Language – 2 or more years
Social Studies – 2 years
History – 2 years
Academic Electives – 2 years
Seniors must also have SAT or ACT college entrance
exam scores.

STUDENTS INTERESTED IN PLAYING
COLLEGE SPORTS (NCAA)




To receive college athletes scholarship students must meet
NCAA eligibility requirements.
Student athletes must earn a grade of 70 or higher in 10
of the 16 required core courses used to calculate NCAA
eligibility by the end of their 6th semester in high school
(11th grade). A students cores become “locked in” and
cannot be retaken for grade improvement after the 6th
semester in high school. Athletes will also need to earn
an approved score on their SAT or ACT test to qualify
for scholarships.
Athletes must register with the NCAA at the beginning
of their junior year.
