DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
Using your orange Accountable Talk Stems, discuss the following
questions in your table group:
1. What did they mean by “germs don’t follow status boundaries?”
2. Why was curing the orphans not considered scientific?
3. Why didn’t people want to believe that Pellagra was caused by
poor diet? Why was his discovery met with social criticism?
4. Dr. Goldeberger claimed he could cause Pellagra. Do you think it
was ok to experiment on prisoner and give them Pellagra in
order to prove it was caused by diet?
