the next five years.
“The capabilities of the human mind are enormous. There is no
inherent reason you cannot accomplish whatever goals you set
for yourself.”
—Michael J. McCarthy
Santa Fe Public Schools’ desire is to become New Mexico’s top performing
school district in five years. Our strategic plan, Choose Success, carves the
path for obtaining this goal. Success involves knowing exactly what you want
to accomplish and why; creating a timeline for completion; developing a list
of clear steps for achieving success; creating a solid plan for putting those
steps into action; and reevaluating those steps, and making adjustments as
necessary along the way.
CHOOSE
Success links our schools to our community through partnerships
and greater parent involvement, while increasing accountability measures
and professional expectations for all members of the organization from the
boardroom to the classroom.
Our Board of
Education’s Role
• To create a vision for Santa
Fe Public Schools through
the establishment of Board
Goals.
• To focus the work of
executive staff and all
members of the organization
on results and strong,
measureable outcomes
related to accountability.
Our Superintendent’s
Message
• We MUST get better in terms of academic growth
and student achievement.
• Our D and F schools, must become C or better
within three years, and our A & B schools must
continue to maintain their grades while increasing
the student achievement of our highest and lowest
performing students.
This means the growth of all students through
focused teaching and learning and differentiated
instruction in order to prepare all students for
graduation.
